What is Quilling?
Quilling is a captivating art form, also known as paper filigree. In this artform thin strips of paper are rolled, shaped, and glued to create beautiful designs. This intricate craft has a rich history that spans centuries and cultures.
As an artform, Quilling dates back to the Renaissance period in Europe where it was used to embellish religious items and book cover. In the 18th century it was a popular pastime for women of high social standing. During colonial times, American settlers embraced quilling and experimented with new techniques. Quilling is enjoyed throughout the world, with artist creating everything from intricate greeting cards to large-scale sculptures.
