Jane was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. She earned her BS (1974) and BFA (1976) in ceramics from NKU. She then walked neighborhoods delivering mail for the US Postal Service by day and continued her clay work by night. She has transitioned from throwing utilitarian works on the wheel to now hand building her creations. In 2011 she retired from the US Postal Service and is now teaching part time at Baker-Hunt & Cultural Center.
Her work is mainly inspired by nature and she continues to make organic forms. With more time now available and with teaching, she has branched out into more varied media. The leaf form has dominated most of her work and can be seen in her clay, concrete, dyed fiber and jewelry creations.
