Scott Aleshire loves geology and studying the Earth and her many timescales. He is a local artist who uses clay and stained glass techniques.
Scott’s passion is kaleidoscopes. He enjoys them because of their simple design that leads to such a complex visual experience. In his opinion, kaleidoscopes have the ability to make anybody an artist. The kaleidoscope experience is highly personal and allows imagination and creativity to take over. He began his journey as a ceramic artist creating functional pottery. Recently he has applied these skills to creating kaleidoscopes. No two are the same and they serve as an expression of chaos falling into something that resembles order.
After graduating from Ohio State, Scott spent several years holding various jobs while exploring states like New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Montana. His favorite place, so far, is Glacier National Park in Montana.
